Ramin Djawadi earns 2019 Emmy Award for ‘Game of Thrones’

He won for “Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score)” for his nine-minute composition, “The Night King,” which was featured in the eighth and final season of the hit HBO series, Game of Thrones. This marked his second consecutive Emmy win in this category.

Regarding his 2019 Primetime Emmy win, Djawadi said, “Having the opportunity to compose for Game of Thrones has meant so much to me.”

The famed composer added that it really is a “privilege” to be awarded this honor. Djawadi noted that he appreciated the entire cast and crew, as well as everybody that watched the show and listened to the music over the years. “It has been an amazing journey,” Djawadi admitted.

On September 14, Djawadi performed at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on Long Island as part of the “Game of Thrones” Live Concert Experience.
