Meet Connie and Chrissy of ‘Date Night with Connie & Chrissy’ (Includes interview)

Connie Henriquez is a lifestyle and beauty expert, as well as the founder of Start Loving Life. Chrissy Bogue is a veteran on air-personality and co-host of Jets Army. They enjoy being dressed in pink on their show since “it’s their favorite color.”

Their TV show on Cablevision has been going for three years strong now. On the idea for their TV show, “Chrissy and I were single a few years ago, and we both have a background in media, so we decided that we were going to create our own show, so people can hang out with us, and do ‘Happy Hour’ on the web, if they didn’t feel like going out. It’s for single people to hang out with us, and have fun,” Connie explained.

Chrissy added, “We talk about how to find love, dating dos and don’ts and many other topics.” Chrissy revealed that their proudest moments include having such distinguished guests on their show such as Constantine Maroulis, Chris Roach from Kevin Can Wait, Larry Caputo, Sal Valentinetti “The Voice” from America’s Got Talent, and many others. “The reason we have had this celebrity clientele on our show is that we started out at Madhouse Studio in Deer Park. It was a great studio, but we took the opportunity to film at our own studio in Woodbury,” Connie said.

They credit their show’s success to Facebook Live, which they didn’t do in the beginning. “Now you can see us on Cablevision, Channel 20 on Wednesday nights at 5:30 p.m. People love that we do happy hour and we review events on Long Island,” Chrissy said.

They noted that each year they cover two of the biggest charity events on Long Island: the PinkTie and the Hospitality Ball. “We love giving back,” they admitted.

For aspiring TV hosts, Chrissy said, “Follow your passion. Don’t give up, and create what you wish existed. We wished for a TV show, and to be TV personalities and we started in a small studio, and now, we are on cable. We did it for the sake of having fun. We work with different sponsors and give people discounts on their products.”

The ladies listed the Dave Matthews Band, Esther Hicks, and Richard Branson as their dream interview choices. “That would be amazing,” they said.

Digital transformation of TV and media

On the impact of technology on television and media, they said, “Technology has changed things for the better. We are on Facebook Live, and now anybody can do their own radio show or Internet radio show. You can be heard and you can be seen. We love social media, especially since it’s free advertising. Anybody who doesn’t take advantage of it is doing themselves a disservice. That’s what we did, and we are a result of that.”

On their use of technology in their daily routine, they said, “Social media is the way. We are on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Our show is about promoting a fun lifestyle, both personal and business. It is encouraging people to do the same.”

For their fans and viewers, they concluded, “Thank you for supporting us for the last three years. We are super appreciative and we are super happy.”
