"Lula" starring actors Jo Weil and Marta Kane has been nominated for "Best Student Short" at the London Short Film Festival.
This World War II film was written and directed by female director Aoife O'Kelly. It is set in 1944, in Nazi occupied Poland, as the Gestapo close in on a Polish resistance officer in hiding, his tough, elegant yet pregnant wife, Regina Jakubowska, affectionately known as Lula, is faced with a difficult decision between protecting her husband, Zygmunt, or their unborn child. It is a true story of one woman's survival.
Marta Kane stars in the leading role as Lula, Matheus Mirek portrays Zygmunt, and acclaimed German actor Jo Weil plays Major Heinz Vollbracht.

Speaking of Weil, he is back with his new film Sodom this year. Weil is best known for his portrayal of Oliver in the soap opera Verbotene Liebe.
