On December 8, Linder will be hosting OpportuniTea Toronto with her fellow co-stars Mark Grossman (Adam Newman), Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin), Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), and Christel Khalil (Lily Winters). This event is in support of March Of Dimes Canada. “Christian, who co-hosts with me, will be there. Sharon, Mark, and Christel will all be there as well. It’s a really great group and it’s going to be fabulous,” he said. “It is at the Royal York, which is a beautiful hotel in Toronto.”
Earlier this spring, Linder celebrated her 37th year on The Young and The Restless, where she has played the role of Esther Valentine. “Next April, I am going to be on the show 38 years,” she said.
Linder also shared that she is pleased that fellow Y&R co-star Beth Maitland is featured in the show’s opening credits again. “That is really good,” she said.
She noted that she just did another film, Echo Boomers, with Michael Shannon and Patrick Schwarzenegger. “Hopefully, that film will be out soon,” she said.
On being an actress in the digital age, she said, “I have a hard time with all this. There are pros and cons to all this technology. We all have to keep up. I certainly don’t want television to go away. I have been a part of it my whole life.”
When asked about the title of the current chapter of her life, she said with a sweet laugh, “Dealing with change.”
Regarding her alternate career choice, she said, “I would be a rockstar.” “I would also want to do something in the hotel and hospitality industry,” she said.
For her dedicated fans, she said, “I am so grateful to everyone who has watched the show and continues to watch the show. If it weren’t for the viewers, nobody would be here.”
