article imageInterview: Noam Ash discusses latest project 'My Gay Roommate' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Sep 18, 2016 in Entertainment
Actor Noam Ash chatted with Digital Journal about his new acting project "My Gay Roommate," which was created by Ash and Austin Bening.
It is the story of two college roommates, one gay and one straight, and their journey into adulthood to become the homo-hetero power-couple of the ages. A hit YouTube production, My Gay Roommate, directed by Austin Bening, is back in a brand new, re-imagined and expanded half-hour format with new characters and story lines. "Austin is fantastic. We have been roommates for seven years and we decided to write a show. I wrote the pilot and he directed it, and we kept going from there. It is like a highlight's reel of our college years. A lot of it is based on our own experiences. It is a bit exaggerated, but based on truth," Ash said.
Regarding their Kickstarter campaign, Ash said, "We finished three seasons of the show online, and we had a really nice feature in Vanity Fair, New York Times, and Huffington Post. We wanted to take it to a half-hour comedy, and we developed this show for a year. We have been working on it with a production company, and the new show is a far big and expanded show. It is based on the same concept. It is like a modern 'Odd Couple.' We are getting ready to shoot the 30-minute pilot of the show."
On his plans for the future, Ash said, "We are going to shoot this 30-minute pilot, and hopefully, everything will turn out for the best, and we hope to continue this for the next eight years."
