By Markos Papadatos     Dec 2, 2016 in Entertainment
Actor Luke Cosgrove chatted with Digital Journal about his role in "The Mist." He also revealed his dream female acting partners.
Regarding his role on "The Mist," Cosgrove said, "The Mist was the first TV work I've done, so the initial feeling was quite overwhelming knowing I would go to set each day and work with a highly dedicated, talented ensemble cast. It was such a big learning curve for me, the overall experience was highly invaluable. To be an integral cog in the mechanics that is the show truly is an incredible feeling. I'm in firm belief when I say the show is unlike anything out there at the moment, we have certainly done something different. Christian Torpe (the series show runner and executive producer) really has done an incredible job of telling the story across ten episodes."
He further added, "Honestly, I can't wait to see the finished product and I can't wait for the world to see what we made."
Cosgrove revealed that he actually read the Stephen King book during the filming process. "They weren't joking when they said it was a horror story. It was interesting to see the the similarities, but more so the new directions the series decided to go in," he said.
On his plans for the future, Cosgrove said, "I'll be heading back to New York in January of 2017 to help promote the show, from there it's looking like I'll be in LA for pilot season. I definitely have my eyes set on a feature film. Don't get wrong, I've loved the last five months of TV work, but working in movies is what I really want to do. Can't wait to see what happens next."
Each day, Cosgrove is motivated by coffee. "Honestly, just the thought of knowing that something big is right around the corner. In this industry, life can change in the blink of an eye. My family and friends and have always been substantial provider in motivation," he said.
For aspiring actors, he recommended they get involved in as many classes as they can, as well as to network and work their butts off. "My dad always said 'you've got to follow your passion, doubt your doubts.' The biggest thing that throws young actors off is the fearful thought of never getting that 'break' or never booking a job. It can be done. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be in this for the long haul," he said.
He listed Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence as his dream female acting partners. "They bring such a high level of charisma and diversity to the screen," he said.
For his fans, he concluded, "Check out the show in 2017, you won't be disappointed. It's an incredible story of how people are manipulated and changed by fear. Especially with what's happening in the world today, there's a strong message in this for everyone."
