Interview: Joel Sajiun talks ‘Men of the Strip’ at The Tropicana (Includes interview)

Sajiun is the sole member who is returning from the original “Men of the Strip” cast. “It’s a blessing. The fact that I get to pass on the legacy to the new crew is really great, but a major responsibility,” he said.

The “Latin Lover” is excited to perform at The Tropicana on May 25 for their opening performance. “Sometimes, I wish that date could be right around the corner,” he said. “I’m living day by day, and I’m absorbing every moment, even though time is running fast. It’s a blessing to have a home where you can actually perform. The new venue is amazing.”

He had nothing but the kindest words about working with choreographer Glenn Douglas Packard. “It’s a blessing, even though it is never easy. Working with him is a learning process to become a better, stronger and tougher person. I learned more about myself and others. It’s a university of dancing, and a stripper boot camp. It’s one of those things that I was extremely looking forward to do believe it or not,” he said, with a sweet laugh. “Glenn embraces the best of you, and he teaches you how everything happens. Thanks to him, we become better everyday.”

Sajiun echoed similar remarks for Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees, who will be performing with them at The Tropicana. “Jeff is cool, and full of experience,” he said. “Right now, we are rehearsing with Glenn, but Jeff inspired me to find my inner voice when it came to singing. He is a true professional and a father-figure to all of us. He took all of us under his wing and treated us like his kids. He lets us take the chance to carry his brand on another level and I appreciate that about him too.”
