Interview: George Papadimatos talks ‘Mommy’s Box,’ future plans (Includes interview)

On being in Mommy’s Box, he said, “Mommy’s Box was a great experience. I got to work with some great people. I know Kelly Karavites very well as a fellow Greek. He needed another Greek to yell at in the scene, and he recommended me to Johnny Greenlaw, and it was my first time working with him. They were all very nice and very professional.”

He continued, “It won many awards. Johnny and Bill won acting awards. The music was terrific. There are so many great things in this film. It doesn’t feel like work when you are with great people.”

His father was his biggest hero in life. “Anytime I get to talk about my dad in my stand-up, it is good for me. I’m a storyteller, I tell stories,” he said. “I have a lot of people from different cultures relate to my material. I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback from it, since it is very relatable.”

He played Elektra’s chauffeur on season two of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, and he would love to be in more episodes.

Papadimatos hopes to do a one-man show someday. “I’m a Mineola native, and I just worked on two pilots, where one was a comedy, and another pilot called Holy Broken, which is like 7th Heaven meets Glee. I hope they will get picked up,” he said. “I have been pretty busy this month so I’m very grateful for that.”

His dream acting roles would be to someday star in a Marvel film on superheroes, as well as in the sitcom Kevin Can Wait, especially since he is a huge fan of comedian Kevin James.
