Derren Brown to perform ‘Secret’ shows in New York City

Brown’s “Secret” show was co-written by Andy Nyman, Andrew O’Connor and Brown himself; moreover, Nyman and O’Connor served as his co-directors.

Most impressive about Brown is that he abandoned a career in law to develops his skills at psychological magic. In 1999, he was asked by a local television station to create a show entitled “Derren Brown: Mind Control,” which was an instant success when it aired in December of 2000. Throughout his career, he has captivated audiences both on stage and on television. Brown has gained a reputation as a performer that constantly challenge and breaks down boundaries in the contemporary magic scene.

In 2011, Brown won the BAFTA award for best entertainment show for Derren Brown: The Experiments. He also won two Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment for his stage show “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and “Svengali” in 2006 and 2012 respectively.

Brown has garnered critical acclaimed for his best-selling books, Derren Brown: Tricks of the Mind and Derren Brown: Confessions of a Conjuror and his latest book Happy.

Aside from his accomplished career in the magic industry, Brown has had considerable success as an artist. His book Portraits is a collection of his painted caricatures of famous faces.
