70's teen sensation, heartthrob actor and singer David Cassidy has passed away on November 22 at the age of 67 years old.
This sad news was confirmed by his publicist, Jo-Ann Geffen, the president and CEO of JAG Entertainment. The cause of his death was organ failure. He was in critical condition the last few days, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was known for his starring role as the lead singer Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family. Their song "I Think I Love You," with David Cassidy on lead vocals and Shirley Jones on backing vocals, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, where it stayed there for three weeks in 1970.
For Cassidy, acting and entertainment was in his blood. His father was singer and actor Jack Cassidy and his mother was Evelyn Ward, a theater actress on Broadway.
According to Fox News, Cassidy had filed for bankruptcy in February of 2015, where he listed his assets and debts up to $10 million. In September of that year, he was subsequently cited for leaving the scene on an accident in Florida.
In February of 2017, Cassidy exclusively revealed to People Magazine that he was battling dementia. As a result, earlier this year, he retired the entertainment business, after five decades in the industry.
