“I’m doing great,” he said. “I’m here with my boy Dan Romano at Frankie’s East Side Gourmet Pizza in Farmingdale. His wife actually made the best veal Parmesan sandwich ever.”
Last month, he was a part of the premiere of The Streetz in Sayville on Long Island. “I’m going to spend a few days with the director, Eddie Rocky Rivera, and we are going to do a few more scenes for the ‘director’s cut.’ We are adding a few more scenes,” he said.
He was really pleased with the sequel, The Streetz 2 which is in the process of being filmed. “The Streetz 2 was good. We had a lot of fun that night at the casino scene,” he said.
Salazar spoke highly about the director, Eddie Rocky Rivera. “We have a lot of fun,” he said. “When we disagree about something, I remind him that I have doing movies for over 30 years.”
Romano who also plays in the Streetz films with Salazar, was described as “The point of no return” by the iconic actor. “Dan’s a trip,” Salazar said. “He’s a great guy.”
Aside from working on The Streetz 2, Salazar is putting together a television reality show that is a comedy, and he revealed that Romano is going to be playing in there.
Digital transformation of entertainment industry
The actor noted that technology has changed the entertainment industry substantially. “It’s ridiculous,” he admitted. “These days, every schmuck with a digital camera is a filmmaker. The industry has changed completely. I’m an old school actor, and I work with a script. You need to give me a final draft of the script. These days I ask the young filmmakers: ‘where is the script?’ and most tell me that ‘it’s in their minds.’ These young filmmakers have no script,” he explained. “Technology has not changed the industry for the better. What is successful these days is car crashing and films such as Iron Man and Batman. Very few movies these days have a story to them.”
Angel Salazar concluded, “Chi Chi from Scarface wants the ladies to know that he is single, and he is available.”
