Broadway Cares/Equity fights AIDS, releases 2016 holiday album

This 22-song collection is full of Broadway’s favorite musicals such as Hamilton, Waitress and Chicago. This project was a labor of love for all artists involved, and it is a blends of songs that are classic and new. It was produced by Lynn Pino and Andros Rodriguez served as its engineer.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is Broadway’s nonprofit organization that helps individual people with serious illnesses such as AIDS and women’s health issues receive the health care and support they need.

Some of the featured songs include “Holiday Melody” from Chicago, as well as “I Can See the Light” from Hamilton. From the musical Waitress, lead actress Jessie Mueller and the cast perform Sara Bareilles’ “Love is Christmas.” Other noteworthy collaborations come from such productions as Matilda (“Auld Lang Syne”), On Your Feet (“Christmas Through Your Eyes”), and The Lion King with “What Wondrous Love,” which was orchestrated and conducted by Cherie Rosen.

Other featured performers include Leona Lewis from Cats the Musical, Alix Korey from Fiddler on the Roof, Chilina Kennedy and Jessica Keenan Wynn from Beautiful and the entire cast and orchestra of The Phantom of the Opera, which is led by Maestro Richard Carsey.

This collection is available for purchase at participating Broadway shows through December 4, as well as through the Broadway Cares official homepage.
