Walters portrays a sultry, take-charge Madame, working opposite Lou Diamond Phillips, Jason Patric and Danny Trejo in the western Big Kill from Archstone Pictures. “That was so much fun,” she admitted. “We got to film on this old, historical western where so many movies were filmed there. That was very cool. Working with Lou Diamond Phillips was tons of fun. He is a great guy,” she added.
She revealed that Arizona was so much fun, but it was totally different, since it was more of a comedy. “That was a very fun character,” she said.
Walters was in Price of Fame, where she helped tell the Robin Williams story. “That was really intense, knowing the facts around it, and feeling so intimately involved,” she said. “Whenever I play a character, I completely immerse myself in that. It felt real and it made me completely empathize with his friends and family. The whole production team portrayed it with dignity and proud honor to it.”
She also portrayed another real estate agent who is house hunting with Jane Fonda in the romantic drama Our Souls at Night, which also stars Robert Redford from Netflix. In television, she was featured in the first season of the drama series Preacher. “Being on Preacher was a riot,” she said. “That was so much fun. I learned a ton. That was very exciting.”
Between her acting assignments, Walters uses her broadcast journalism and entrepreneurial skills to co-run the youth workshop Talk to the Camera which helps elementary and middle school children to develop and enhance their social communication skills. “I started Talk to the Camera with a friend of mine, who is a veteran educator. We came up with this idea. We officially became an LLC in 2015, and it snowballed from there. We have made it available for franchising, and hope to find like-minded people to impact the younger generation. We want to make a difference.”
She also exclusively revealed to Digital Journal that she would love to someday work with Matthew McConaughey, and opened up about how she knew him growing up in the past. “Matthew’s family and my family were good friends, when we were growing up. Our dads worked together in Texas. He was older than me, and there are pictures of us when we were little, and I used to follow him around everywhere. I am sure I was this annoying little person, but even back then, I was enamored by him in Texas. Then, Matthew moved away and his father passed. I have kept in contact with his family, but haven’t seen him or talked to him since I entered the industry. It would be a really neat experience if we work on something together,” she said, with a sweet laugh.
Digital transformation of entertainment business
Regarding the impact of technology on the contemporary entertainment business, Walters said, “It is phenomenal. What is incredible about technology is that you can have a home anywhere and work from anywhere. I have really been acting for the past 10 years and seeing that shift take place, has been really eye-opening and really encouraging. I have been raising three children, who are all older now, and it is awesome that I can wake up and have breakfast with them, and I can film a couple of auditions. It is really awesome. Technology has opened up the talent poll to be nationwide and even global.”
