article imageActor Dan Davidson talks new film 'Sicario: Day of the Soldado' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jul 1, 2018 in Entertainment
Actor Dan Davidson chatted with Digital Journal about his role in the thriller film "Sicario: Day of the Soldado," and he discussed the impact of technology on the entertainment industry.
In Sicario: Day of the Soldado, he plays U.S. Marine Colonel Kenneth Walter, where he stars opposite Oscar-nominated actor Josh Brolin. "It was pretty exciting. This is probably the biggest project that I've done, since I am relatively new to the industry," he said. "I was excited to be able to get on set and work with one of my favorite actors, Josh Brolin."
Recently, Davidson portrayed a Russian spy in The Brave television series on NBC, and he was an enthusiastic bug exterminator in the horror film Apartment 212. "Apartment 212 was pretty cool, though it was a bizarre film. It is kind of funny, and scary in the last 10 to 15 minutes, where the horror aspect of it really kicks in," he said.
On his plans for the future, Davidson said, "Right now, I am living in Denver, and trying to pick up some credits in the New Mexico market."
Between his acting assignments, Davidson continues to perform as a stand-up comedian. He also enjoys playing the guitar. "I have been doing stand-up for the past 25 years," he said. "I have made people laugh for a long time, and now I am going to make them cry through my acting. I want to fill up the whole spectrum of emotional range."
Davidson listed Jessica Chastain as his dream female acting partner. "Jessica is off the charts. She is awesome. Miss Sloane was so well done," he said.
He defined success as "The constant movement towards something." "To keep your mojo going," he said.
Digital transformation of entertainment business
On the impact of technology on the entertainment business, Davidson said, "It does create a lot of different options and avenues. It is exciting since people can generate more content, so more opportunities seem to arise. I am hopeful that technology will work out nicely for the industry."
