article imageCountry singer Josh Turner to release first book 'Man Stuff'

By Markos Papadatos     Mar 2, 2014 in Music
Country star Josh Turner can now add published book author to his impressive resume. His first book "Man Stuff: Thoughts on Faith, Family, and Fatherhood" will be out on April 29 on Thomas Nelson, an imprint of Harper Collins Christian Publishing.
It includes a forward that was written by Jase Robertson of A&E's hit television series Duck Dynasty. Turner has been signed to the record label, MCA Nashville, since his debut in 2003.
Throughout his career, he has sold over five million albums and had four chart-topping singles on the country charts. He was also one of the youngest artists that was asked to join the Grand Ole Opry.
In this new book, he shares how his life has remained centered on his Christian faith and family. He includes stories from his life and lessons that he has learned over the years, being a son, brother, friend, husband and father.
"I was raised in a strong Christian family in a tight-knit community in rural South Carolina," Turner stated in his book's introduction. "I was taught essential life lessons, like the value of a dollar, what hard work feels like, and how important an education is. I was taught why being thoughtful, respectful, and considerate of others makes life more fulfilling, and why trusting God with your life's decisions is wise. If all that sounds a little old-fashioned, well, that's because it is. And I'm okay with that," he added.
A native of South Carolina, Turner possesses a deep, baritone voice and he is best-known for such country tunes as "Long Black Train," "Time is Love," "Your Man," "Would You Go With Me," "All Over Me" and "Why Don't We Just Dance."
He has won six Inspirational Country Music Awards and he has been nominated for two Grammy awards, as well as five Country Music Association (CMA) awards and two Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards. His most recent albums include Punching Bag and Live Across America, which is available exclusively at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Cracker Barrel's official website.
Turner created The Josh Turner Scholarship Fund to help students pursue their studies in the fields of music and arts education. He and his wife Jennifer, whom he met as a student at Nashville’s Belmont University, have three sons.
