Apple's iTunes is giving away a range of free content for the fifth year, running over the 12 days of the Christmas period.
Apple iTunes will be running a "12 Days of Christmas" event again this year, which will see users offered a range of different content including apps (applications for iPads and iPhones), TV shows, movies, books and music. For the first year the free content applies to the U.S. as well as to most regions around the world.
As reported by ‘9 to 5 Mac’, the 12 Days of Christmas offer will run from Dec 26 to January 6 and include high-profile content, with each offer available for just 24 hours. To access the content people with iTunes accounts will needed to log-on each day. There is a also a special app to make the process easier.
This is the fifth year that Apple have run the event. The past three years have seen some mixed content released (as the Digital Journal reported in 2012). Apple have also used the Apple Store app to give away select apps this year, beginning with Color Zen back in August.
It seems that Apple have now firmly established an interesting tradition.
