Montreal - On now until March 2nd, MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE (MEL) will celebrate its 15th edition with an incredible presentation of performing arts.
Festival programmers have spiced up the MEL arts offer on every level, including many artists from the past who have created a number of exciting, completely new shows, and prepared a stellar array of premieres.
The Coup de chapeau à Haïti (Hats Off to Haiti) brings an unexpected flash of sunshine and celebration to the wintriest days and nights. A Montreal singer-songwriter of Haitian extraction, Régine Chassagne travels the world with massively successful rock band Arcade Fire, which she created with her husband Win Butler.
Opening concert - Roi de rien with the first album of original songs in seven years, and a brand new show in a MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE exclusive.
Closing concert - Juliette Grécochante Brel - The legend of Jacques Brel, revisited by the legendary Juliette Gréco, an absolutely essential musical event.
Overall the festival provides a diverse marquee packed with everything from jazz to classical, the circus arts, chanson, theatre, literature, dance and of course, fine fare. Montreal will utterly reaffirm its status as a cultural metropolis and The City of Festivals!
