The successful businessman, based in Stephenville, Texas, recently staged the 'Steven Tyler...Out On a Limb' benefit concert alongside the Aerosmith singer. He told all to Digital Journal.
On May 2, the above-mentioned gig - together with a silent auction - took place at the Lincoln Centre's David Geffen Hall in New York City to raise money for Janie's Fund, a charity that supports girls who have fallen victim to abuse and neglect. "Great event," enthuses Cody Johnson, one of Twisted J Apparel's co-founders.
"We were honoured to be present at such a special event. Steven Tyler performed solely with his band on stage. A chance meeting with him last year led to an opportunity with Janie's Fund that we could not pass up... Steven is just a regular guy who is wonderful to be around. I can see many adventures together in the future.

I asked Mr. Johnson to tell me more about the popular clothing store that specialises in t-shirts. "We started five years ago," he explains. "Our family is a little out there, more 'twisted' than your average family - hence 'Twisted J.' The 'J' comes from our last name: Johnson. We are a company that puts customers first. Whether you are Steven Tyler or the business next door, you will be treated the same."
"All of our printing is done in house," continues the lifelong entrepreneur, whose wife Luann is also heavily involved, "where our employees are trained using some of the best equipment in the world. I would like to think I came up with every design myself, but I couldn't take all the credit.
"We have two full-time in house designers, both with different styles. Whether they come up with the design themselves or we throw ideas at them, their designs are sure to sell out quickly."
What are Johnson's plans for the rest of 2016? "Later this year we are planning on opening a new store front that will offer a place for tourists to travel all over the world to see Twisted J," he replies. "With several events and artist merchandise in the works we do not plan on slowing down anytime soon."
