Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency, is gaining popularity. One of the latest to join the Bitcoin ranks is The Dish Network, a satellite TV operator.
According to Consumerist, Dish Network announced that come July 1, it will start to accept Bitcoin payments from customers.
According to New York Times, Dish made the announcement on Thursday. The company is not the first to accept Bitcoin as payment, but Dish claims to be the largest.
Bernie Han, Dish’s chief operating officer, said that the company doesn't know what the demand will be.
According to CNET, the company said that Bitcoins can be used only for one-time payments.
As of now, Bitcoin's conversion rate comes out to around $550.
