Waterloo - A Canadian company, Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc., is asking people to express their feeling by buying more flowers. The Digital Journal found out why.
PickOntario is a marketing initiative funded by Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. The company recently launched a campaign called “Express It With Flowers”. This is a consumer awareness promotion running from April 21 to May 11, 2014. The aim is that people will be given the opportunity to win Ontario grown bouquets of flowers or potted plants by entering to win on the company’s website.
As every flower lover knows, flowers have a language of their own. Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by these fragile blooms.
So, why “Express It With Flowers”? The Digital Journal spoke with FCO’s Marketing Director, Nikki Gomes. According to Nikki, the key reasons are:
“Is there someone in your life that you want to show your appreciation because they are always there for you?
How about the colleague who is always willing to pitch in and help; always going the extra mile for the team?
What about saying thank you through flowers to the caring volunteers who offer up their time – quietly making an impact on the lives of others?
Or how about just brightening someone’s day – because you can!”
In addition to these reasons, for 20 days, pickOntario will post a new reason to give flowers on the website and through the radio station 91.5 The Beat, Waterloo.
Nikki went onto add: “We hope everyone will be watching the Marilyn Denis Show on May 9th and Breakfast Television on May 5th, where pickOntario will be donating beautiful Ontario grown flowers in support of Mother’s Day for audience members.” Mrs. Gomes also commented: “Ontario grown flowers are not just for special occasions. Flowers can help us make those special connections to the folks we care about, any time of the year, and while providing valuable health benefits and overall sense of well-being we can support our local farmers by ‘buying local’!”
It sounds like a bright and colourful initiative.
