One year after joining the ride-sharing giant, Bozoma Saint John has left her position as chief branding officer at Uber to pursue the chief marketing officer role at entertainment conglomerate Endeavor.
Techcrunch got a hold of Saint John when news of her departure first broke, she told them that there was no bad blood between her and Uber. She wasn't even looking to leave when Endeavor approached her, but decided to make the move because "she didn’t want to pass up this opportunity to change the narrative around diversity and inclusion."
Saint John was brought in by board member Arianna Huffington, under ousted CEO Travis Kalanick. She stayed in the position for "almost exactly a year."
Saint John is one of a series of executives brought in under Kalanick to leave the company.
The brand guru and disruptive marketer is being applauded on social media for the step into Hollywood, and welcomed by her new colleagues.
