Big news for soccer fanatics: England's Man U squad will face Scottish Premier League's Glasgow Celtic at the Rogers Centre on July 16. No ticket details have been released.
Yes, this is a battle of two soccer giants, on Toronto's humble turf.
As reported in the Toronto Star, "the exhibition match on a natural-grass pitch ...will open a four-city North American tour for the Red Devils."
Man U will also play July 21 at Philadelphia against the MLS Union, July 25 in Kansas City against the MLS Wizards and July 28 against the MLS All-Stars at Houston’s Reliant Stadium.
It is reportedly the team's first appearance in North America in six years.
Toronto will also be treated to another European match in a few weeks. Italian Serie A rivals Juventus and Fiorentina will play on May 25.
Are you going to either of these games? Or is European soccer not the same when played outside Europe?
