The bomb attack in Afghanistan has killed Eight Americans that worked for the CIA. This revelation is said to be the worst against US intelligence officials since 1983.
In Khost Province, near Pakistan, a bomber is said to have wore an explosive vest, entered Forward Operating Base Chapman.
According to an analyst, this is not the first time an Afghan Security official has turned on coalition forces. It is also alleged that the attack was carried out by a member of the group working for the Afghan army. The bombing was said to be one of at least three deadly attacks across Afghanistan on thursday. One time report revealed that six men, suspected of being spies for the government in the southern province of Uruzgan were beheaded by Taliban militants. The next was the roadside bomb attack in Kandahar that claimed the lives of four Canadian soldiers and a journalist. The attack was rated as the most deadly attack on Canadians in the country for more than two years. Another tragic scene that tingled the ears of many was the Kidnapped of the Two French journalists in Kapisa province, north-east of kabul, together with their Afghan driver and interpreter.
The yet to be confirmed claim by US officials that most, if not all of the dead Americans were either CIA agents or contractors. Officially, confirmation by either the CIA or the pentagon is yet to be made.
Whatever is confirmed or unconfirmed, the attacks has raised question about the coalition's ability to protect itself against infiltrators.
