It's the feature everyone's been asking for:
Email inbox search on Facebook. For too long, inboxes on Facebook would soar into the thousands and there's be no manageable way to find that old email you needed.
Today, Facebook added a search function to the inboxes of several networks, and plans to roll out the feature globally soon. I tested the function and it worked perfectly. Searching for "dinner" reminded me of all the dinner dates I promised to friends, and a search for my friend's name "Gabrielle" pulled her email messages from several months ago. It would've taken too much page-clicking to find her email the old way.
A pat on the back to Facebook to finally listening to users and adding the search function. It should be an ideal way to make the inbox less inundating.
