Got to see the movie tonight and over all I was amused. But in true critic fashion I have to give my opinion.
Caution there may be spoilers in here.
Okay well anyone who is a "fan" of George Lucas has been greatly disappointed in the past 10 years over his botching of storyline in the Star Wars Saga. He has dropped the ball in many ways, and become more hokey by the year. Indiana Jones is no different. It was meant to be a feel good movie with no meat, at least I hope that is what he meant. The storyline was simplistic, the beginning was cheesy and the ending, while cute, was just goofy.
The movie begins with Indiana Jones being accused of being a commie after he was forced by KGB agents to locate a box in area 51. Now at first I thought they were looking for the Arc of the Covenant because that is how Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ended with them sticking it in a warehouse. In fact it was not. However they did reveal the location for those of us who remembered.
Anyway then he finds himself in the middle of a nuclear test where he survives by putting himself into a lead lined fridge. Ha ha, so very hokey.
Then this little whipper snapper asks Indiana to find his mother, blah blah. Long story short his mother is that chick from the Last Crusade that he seemed to be in love with. And yes this kid is his Son but neither know that.
Now many of us remember the intrigue in the first three movies. It had a little more dark, dank, archeology stuff, all this stuff was explained to whatever chick Jones was tramping around with. In this it was rather half assed. I would have to say the entire script was half assed, and was the weakest part of the movie.
So in the end, he saves the day, bonds with his long lost son, AND finally gets married.
Don't say I didn't warn you about spoilers. Still it was entertaining, and a fun night out. Worth the time in the theatre.
Thanks for taking me to the movies Mommy. *kiss*
