Representative Robert Wexler, Florida Democrat, who publicly called for impeachment hearings this spring, immediately co-sponsored Kucinich’s resolution June 10th. Representatives Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Sam Farr (D-CA) also signed on to the resolution. More co-sponsors are expected.

In a bipartisan vote of 251-166, the full House of Representatives sent Dennis Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment to the Judiciary Committee. That means Chairman John Conyers now has the power to decide whether to hold impeachment hearings — or not. Incredibly, 24 Republicans voted with 227 Democrats; the 166 no votes came exclusively from Republicans.

ImpeachThem.com — 9 June 2008 — by U. S. Representative Dennis Kucinich — Resolved, that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate.

Articles of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America, in the name of itself and of the people of the United States of America, in maintenance and support of its impeachment against President George W. Bush for high crimes and misdemeanors.

In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States, and to the best of his ability, to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed the following abuses of power.

New York Times — 11 June 2008 — by Associated Press — • Kucinich Seeks to Impeach Bush • — WASHINGTON DC — Representative Dennis J. Kucinich, Democrat of Ohio, defied his party leadership on Monday by calling for the impeachment of President Bush for starting the war in Iraq — but his move was not expected to go anywhere. Mr. Kucinich, a former presidential candidate, outlined his intention to propose more than two dozen charges against Mr. Bush on the floor of the House. He accused Mr. Bush of executing a “calculated and wide-ranging strategy” to deceive citizens and Congress into believing that Iraq posed an imminent threat to the United States. Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly said she opposes trying to remove Mr. Bush, calling such an effort divisive and most likely unsuccessful.

[Editor’s Note: Yup, that’s right, this is the “newspaper of record’s” entire coverage of Articles of Impeachment against the President of the United States. Well gollywhizzer, why should the Times offer an expensive extensive report of the Kucinich-Wexler resolution? Why on earth should the Times print the entire 65-page text of the bill? After all, this action concerns only the destruction of our constitution, an illegal war that’s slaughtered millions, torture, unwarranted spying, an economic crash with a national debt at $9-trillion, massive fraud by private companies and mercenary armies run by Bush-Cheney’s thug pals, and oh yeah, the theft of democracy with stolen elections, and the specter of a new war against Iran and a police-state dictatorship in the USA. Hell, why would any responsible newspaper want to devote space to this? Oh well. Here’s some short coverage from C-SPAN:]

19th Congressional District of Florida — 10 June 2008 — by Staff of Rep. Robert Wexler— Congressman Wexler Co-Sponsors Bush Impeachment. — WASHINGTON DC — TODAY, CONGRESSMAN ROBERT WEXLER (D-FL), A SENIOR MEMBER OF THE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, SIGNED ONTO CONGRESSMAN DENNIS KUCINICH’S (D-OH) ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT AGAINST PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH. The Articles outline numerous allegations against President Bush, including his creation of a massive propaganda campaign to mislead the nation into war with Iraq, the illegal use of torture during interrogation, the authorization of a warrantless wiretapping program on American citizens, and the repetitive use of signing statements to negate legislation passed by Congress.

“President Bush deliberately created a massive propaganda campaign to sell the war in Iraq to the American people and the charges detailed in this impeachment resolution indicate an unprecedented abuse of executive power,” said Congressman Wexler. “A decision by Congress to pursue impeachment is not an option, it is a sworn duty. It is time for Congress to stand up and defend the Constitution against the blatant violations and illegalities of this Administration. Our Founding Fathers bestowed upon Congress the power of impeachment, and it is now time that we use it to defend the rule of law from this corrupt Administration.”

This year Congressman Wexler launched a nationwide campaign to hold impeachment hearings for Vice President Dick Cheney and he has also called for inherent contempt for Karl Rove for ignoring subpoenas to testify. Congressman Wexler also led an effort to bring Scott McClellan before the House of Representatives to testify about the devastating revelations made in his recently released book.

This is the CBC copy of e-mails I also sent to the NYT and BBC World.
Digital Journal also has already practically buried the most sensational news of the time. What's going on?
    quote:
I'm visiting down my list of regular news sources. CBC is preceded by the New York Times, and BBC World News.

Nowhere have I read about this piece of legislation, no comments, blogs, not a whisper.

This piece of legislation is progressing rapidly past its initial vote of support by House of Representative Democrats along with more than a few Republicans.

I found this bit of news in my first source of news -- Everyday.

    http://www.digitaljournal.com/blog/469

I'm totally bewildered as to why coverage of the progress of this history-making resolution does not continually make front page news. Everywhere!

For the World, but more particularly for American citizens this is a capital proposal that requires their action.

The article, and its links, give all contact addresses so US Citizens can both sign-on and also make their voice heard.

This is important news for the World, as Bush & Co. have to eventually end-up in the World Court as war criminals: This is the first step.

With this silence, world-wide, one has to wonder (one of many other unanswered questions at this time) if this amount of non-coverage was also given Clinton during his trials and near-impeachment tribulations?

Or, perhaps, there is something else to protect here?

    What's going on?

    cheers,
    michel.

And this late in the game what would be the purpose?

    Political posturing, pontificating, and wrangling?
