I was mulling this over today, and I was thinking can we have a Op-Ed category? Having Op-Ed infront of the title sometimes makes it a bit difficult to have intruiging titles. Also in most news papers they do not use the abbreviation Op-Ed they just put it under the Opinion section.

Also can we have a chatbox on the main page? I know we have a group, but having a chatbox that we can add or take away like the other, what do you guys call them, widgets? would be really cool.

    Great idea Samantha!!!

Mind you ... at the rate I'm ranting (in private) these days, just about everything I publish would go in the new section ... lol

lol I am kinda burnt out. I have so much going on in my head and I want to get it out. Unforntunately it is getting stuck in the unactivated section. I hope you have more luck than I do.

Samantha, an Opinion Section is an ab fab idea ... I hope the powers that be take it into consideration.

Didn't we all have a chat room set up somewhere last year? They could probably get a widget to link it to.

What do you mean by the unactivated section? Do you mean you write posts and then not activate them?

I mean I partially write posts, then don't activate because I get writers block, and info burn out.

People don't know how hard I research my stories, sometimes if there is alot of research it buries me. That is part of the reason I get so pissed when people insinuate that I pull stuff out of my ass. lol

oh yeah I don't want toforget to mention that I am extremely uncomfortable in the room with the computer. Idon't have a chair I use an end table, the kids destroyed my chair. My hips are spreading again and it is killing me! The airconditioners do not work that well in the heat and it is on the third floor. I think that has something to do with my state of mind.

I know the feeling Samantha... sometimes there is just so much information that it seems almost impossible to put it into any comprehensive form

I like this idea it would still be clear that the piece is an op-ed.

OK, thanks Sam. I have exactly the opposite problem. I start researching something and after I've got three or four good sources I start to write the post. However, what happens is that after I've looked up two or three complementary articles, I end up finding another equally interesting story to report on and open up a tab to start researching that one, get two more complementary sources, and oh, look there's another interesting story and I start researching that one. Then, after I look at the clock and see that three hours have passed by, the dinner is burnt, the dog is whining to get out for a pee and my latte is cold, I see that I've got five windows and twenty tabs opened, get totally disgusted with the whole thing and just walk away!

I've got two words for myself (well I guess I could come up with lots more but for now it's got to be two) Focus (and) Gemini!

Focusing for us twin's is obviously a major problem!

It's nice to know that I'm not the only OCD research-to-the-nth-degree CJ ... lol. I was beginning to think that nobody else got writer's block bc all of you write so well and often.

Dual monitors are great for multi windows. It helps you keep things together and not all lost in the pile. lol

My problem with writing is similar to yours as I always find or remember something else and the next thing I know I'm completely off subject or I just get pissed off at the content begin a foaming rant and would have to edit it down to nothing to post it.. sigh... That's why I haven't applied to write articles here.. yet.

Samanthat your idea sounds like a good addition to the site.
You just need to sweet talk Chris a bit =P

Acutally I think Alex is the one who is burdened with writing Code, and he doesn't get on enough for me to sweet talk him. Besides, I don't think I actually know how to talk sweet. lol

Sam, the axis of the earth will be in peril if you decide to start talking sweet, in fact, there might just be a cosmic shift the likes of which we've never seen ...

    Two words: mini me

Except when I was your age, somewhere in my small little brain, I had the notion to stop procreating after one ... a future in a 6x8 jail cell for me would have completely horrified my Mother!

    lol!!

I would have stopped after Sarah, if I wasn't freaked out about birth control. The stuff messes my body up so bad, I had to go on an aspirin regimen with the last birth control I was on because of blood clots. My doctor was all too happy to grant my request of getting neutered.

And Carolyn, you wouldn't have been put in jail. Anything you do when you are pregnant falls under the twinkie defense. *evil grin*

Deja vu ... I too am totally freaked over b/c and just got very good with marking dates down ... it always helped that I ovulated during a full moon!

That doctor comment is hilarious because when I was your age and asked to be neutered, the dr's refused saying I was just too young and would change my mind, etc. etc. 20+ years later and I'm still married to the same guy and I still have only one kid!

Timing it worked until I got married, then BAM it was like divine intervention. That and I was ovulating on my wedding night and the curse of fertility rampant between our two families hit.

My doctor talked about the " you might be married to another man one day and he may want kids." He wasn't serious, he just said that is something he was required to talk about. My hubby was there looking amused, and all I kept thinking was. God forbid that happens, that man will have to go knock up someone else because I ain't doin it.

I guess I missed something somewhere along the line...but I didn't know that you were expecting, Samantha! Poor girl...I can see why you're miserable in this heat!!!

I think many of us do research our stories to the nth degree...and many of us get frustrated...I am even guilty of that. My problem these days is constant distractions...living in a household with 5 children and 3 other adults! Yikes!

Hey KJ, we've obviously got to get the pregnant broad to do the sweet talking and ask for the reinstatement of the Sex category (begging for sex just dosen't seem to work with these guys!).
