I like to shop Safeway for its sale items. There were just three items in my purchase this morning. When I received my change, something just didn't add up. I checked my receipt and it showed four items. Here's what had happened. A pack of six bran muffins had a 99 cent "reduced" sticker on it, but both this price and the original of $3.29 were scanned. The clerk was most apologetic. It seemed that enough of the bar code, normally covered by the sale sticker, was showing to register.
Goes to show, you shouldn't be discussing last night's television as those items are being checked through.
