  I understand the "digital journalists can edit articles feature" is mainly for obvious typos and such things as inadvertent mix-ups of it's and its (not major revisions).

  Elizabeth, yes, it's for typos like the ones you mention, but also for any factual errors that another Digital Journalist spots. It all goes towards creating a social news network where writers are helping other writers.
