DigitalJournal.com sees a lot of great original reporting from contributors all over the world. To encourage more of it, we're throwing out a special bonus for the month of November.
Starting today, DigitalJournal.com is happy to announce it will issue a $100 bonus to the person who writes the most approved specials in the month of November.
All Digital Journalists are welcome to take part in the competition and if you're not yet a Digital Journalist you can
find out more here.
Specials on DigitalJournal.com are articles that include extra effort such as interviewing or on-the-ground reporting. News articles that summarize or "quote" news already available online are not eligible for a $100 bonus.
To be eligible to win the $100 bonus, all Digital Journalists can click "Post News" at the top of the page to report news and they must be the original source. On this page you'll see a link to indicate extra effort was done and we'll ask you to provide details of what you are reporting first-hand, or who you interviewed for your article.

When a Digital Journalist publishes an article, he or she can specify if they saw an event in person or if they interviewed someone.

The Digital Journalist who posts the most approved original articles (articles that include news they saw first-hand or articles that include original interviews) between today (Nov. 2) and midnight on Nov. 30 (Eastern Time) will take home the cash bonus. All articles will be verified by Digital Journal staff and sources will be contacted to check quotes and facts. The winner will be announced in the comment thread of this blog post.
In the event of a tie, our editorial team will review all entries and select a winner. The "extra effort" bonus is intended to be incentive to do extra leg-work or interviews so we'll keep that in mind, and in case of a tie we'll look at who put in more effort and a winner will be selected based on who did more work, who did a better job, and who went the extra mile.
