News Reporting 101 Liveblog, Oct. 28, noon ET -- writing a compelling profile

Posted Oct 19, 2009 by  David Silverberg in Internet 3 comments
Practically every journalist will tackle the profile in his or her career. Writing about an intriguing personality isn't a cakewalk, though -- it requires interviewing skill, a talent for including the right details, and an editor's eye.
In its monthly Reporting 101 liveblog, DigitalJournal.com will present a tutorial on how to write a great profile article. On Oct. 28, at noon ET, take part in a discussion by clicking on the blog post labeled Reporting 101. The post will be found in this Citizen Journalism News n' Views group.
After the event, the liveblog transcript will be viewable to anyone who visits the blog post.
Digital Journal editors will discuss how to find the right individual to profile, the best interview techniques to glean fantastic details, how to compile that info in a coherent package, and how to best edit the final product.
We anticipate another thought-provoking and helpful News Reporting 101 session, and we hope you take part to add your experience and insight. See you on Oct. 28!
