Rearranging one's life to live in two places, as many seniors do--wintering in one place and "summering" in another is not any easy task. We put together a strategy, and two residences that combined don't equal the average-priced house in America, all of which we thought terribly clever. Live half the year in a small town called Natchitoches and half the year in Oregon. Such a deal. Our friends declared it was "having it all."
Well it certainly is having all the stress as items are sorted, some to go one place and some another. Then there is the proverbial walking around things packed and unpacked and quarreling over what goes and what stays. Ring bells folks? I suspect many have gone through the same.
But that has been my life for days and days now, and after the move tomorrow with official movers arriving, the plane leaving Sunday for Oregon, bookkeeping matters to complete and moving in to establish our base in Natchitoches before we leave, all adds up to collapse.
There you have it. My excuse for not writing emails, hardly any articles and tonight is my last stint on the computer, until a final post in the a.m.
Salute until later.
