First off, I want to thank David, 2Strident and Paul for their concern regarding "the flood." Unfortunately I was unable to report anything. Internet connection, telephone/cellphone lines and electricity was disrupted in most areas.
I was able to access the internet just this morning.
Water from the faucet is a little brownish. No, not suitable for drinking. Some areas are still flooded neck-deep.
Our house served as a sort of evacuation area. Fortunately our house wasn't reached by water but most of our neighbors' were.
Some kids from our neighborhood stayed with us for about two nights.
Flood in some areas like Marikina, Pasig and Rizal literally "ate" houses.
Schools were turned into temporary settlement while classes were suspended for one week. Merchants incurred big losses. I went to the market and saw food items, vegetables, sacks of rice and others scattered all over the floor.
Wet, spoiled and rotten.
Sorry, there were no pictures. My digicam is of no use now, the battery of my camera phone was emptied and there was no electricity for days.
Some of my classmates in the university were also affected. The reckless flood did not choose its victim. Rich, poor, young, old, anyone that has life and property to be robbed of was robbed.
The Philippine archipelago is under state of calamity.
Last night, another super typhoon struck us but it did not last that long. The road to recovery is long. The other day I helped in cleaning the university. Tomorrow, classes will resume.
Hopefully, things will get better.
PS: I'm not on my element because of "the flood" sorry, the words just won't fit together.
