News Reporting 101 liveblog: Adding balance, removing bias from reporting

Posted Sep 16, 2009 by  Chris Hogg in Internet 3 comments
Attention bloggers, citizen journalists, reporters and anyone covering news. We're now live with an online liveblog to help teach balance in reporting. Sick of bias in news?
This edition of News Reporting 101 focused on fair and balanced journalism -- how to cover both sides of the story, why you should avoid biased reporting, finding sources and so on.
DigitalJournal.com editors were available to answer questions, while also citing stellar examples of balanced journalism.
The online class lasted for one hour. Now, the liveblog transcript is viewable to anyone who check out the first comment below.

For those of you asking about how they can see our liveblog on bias/balance in reporting now that the live event is over. You can hover over the widget above and click "Replay" to scroll through the whole conversation. You can also see the full text RSS feed here. The chat was great and included tons of very useful and helpful tips. We encourage everyone to have a quick read through.

Very good blog guys! I'm sorry I missed it live although reading the transcript was very helpful.
I'll be sure to be here for the next one.
    Thanks, Ray
