Trees and their Sad, Terrifying Death

I was really shocked by a video I received today on how they cut down trees these days. Appalling. Horrible. The photo is of the tree outside my kitchen window. I took it 15 minutes ago. Ok, it's a little wilted due to the heatwave but it still looks beautiful with the late afternoon sunlight shining through it. I must admit I only took that photo to introduce another subject, but hey, it's not too bad as it happens, I've done (much much) worse.

Maybe some of you have seen this clip before, but for those who haven't..... It's from a film on climate change. It shows how deforestation is carried out.

Full screen is best to see exactly what happens. How to hug the tree outside my window and annhilate it in seconds. I had to watch it three times. I just couldn't believe my own eyes.... :(
