What is our empty part of our brain being used for.

Posted Aug 16, 2009 by  Plinio Granado in Entertainment 12 comments
They say we only use 5 to 10 % of our brain. I have an idea of how the rest of the brain is being used. We have machines that measure the electrical impulses of our brain when it is being used. There are a lot of studies being done on what part of the brain response to what stimulus. But they have not figured out the empty part of the brain. They say we will eventually grow into it. I know what our unused part of the brain IS being used for. Would you like to know? The empty part of the brain is used to communicate with God. When we communicate with God through this part of the brain the communication is so very soft because God is right there with you. Even if you just think it, or whisper it, it will be heard. This communication with God through the so called empty part of the brain can not be picked up by the instruments we have today. It does not traumatize the brain enough for the instruments to pick it up.

Yikes Plinio! What about atheists? Does this mean that 80% of my brain is completely dormant?
Don't tell my wife. She's already thinks most of my brain is utterly useless, this will only serve to reenforce that notion. :)

    Hey Plinio
I'd say you're holding your own just fine sir. How many 74 year olds do you know who can teach the grandkids a thing or two about blogging?
Can't underestimate the power of the numinous, often underestimated by my fellow non-believers. 80% of our neurology though? That's a hard sell for me, I've heard that said before as well, but I'm not sure what evidence there is to support that claim. It has to said though that some rare people do seem to be able to do unthinkably complicated things with their minds. I refer to savant syndrome etc. Food for thought there.
    Thanks Plinio

Savants do some hard to explain activities that may be going into that part of the brain.
Don't worry though you are doing fine with what you are using.

Hmmm... "They" again... this time they've been saying we use 10% of our brain. You should have heard them last time, going on about floating witches. You wonder how this stuff gets started.
Nature doesn't really allow for superflous brain matter. The size of the human skull at birth is limited to the size of the birth canal. Nature is nothing, if not about economy. But even if there were such a thing... a blank spot in our brains unidentified and unexplored... wouldn't it be just a tad reckless to go defining it as "the god spot"?
Well, yes it would be.... just a tad reckless. Heck, except that it doesn't exist, of course.
    But other than that.........

    Thank you R.
You are probably right on all counts.
I was born by cesarean-section so according to what you say "The size of the human skull at birth is limited to the size of the birth canal". I must have a bigger brain.LOL

Since the beginning of mankind man has dealt in mysticism. My contention is we must have a natural part of our brain sensing our connection to the cosmos. Given the fact that we have free will, We make up stories on what this connection is.

It's actually a fallacy that "we only use 10% of our brain". We actually use all of it, but only bits of it at any one time for normal everyday stuff. So it's more like we only use 10% of our brain at any one time.
