Scheduled for 12 p.m. noon (Eastern time) on Tuesday August 11, DigitalJournal.com’s online Liveblog debate will look at an issue increasingly making news around the world: celebrities.
When the media covers celebrities, some people decry it as "fluff" and insignificant reporting, while others gobble up the tabloids in droves. Reporting on A-listers has always been common practice for journalists, and we've all seen the glut of celebrity news following Michael Jackson's death.
But should “celebretards” get as much news play as they do in today’s media, or be cut out completely? Join us tomorrow to have your say. DigitalJournal.com’s Liveblog debate will begin at 12 p.m. noon (Eastern time) on Tuesday, August 11.
DigitalJournal.com moderators will pose questions to the audience to begin the conversation. We want you to participate and add your thoughts to the hour-long debate.
You don't have to be a Digital Journalist or a site member to take part in the discussion, either. You simply need to log onto DigitalJournal.com on the day of the Liveblog Debate, and you'll see an article on the front page with a headline announcing the Liveblog Debate is now active.
The debate will be embedded inside
this article (which will say "inactive" until it's published tomorrow).
So join us Tuesday, August 11, at 12 p.m. noon (Eastern time) to have your say!
And don't forget to invite your friends.
