First, watch this
trailer for the upcoming film Grace.
Next, try to wrap your head around this weak premise: an expecting mother gets into a car accident, her baby dies in the womb but she still gives birth to...an undead baby-zombie? Who needs to feed on blood, aka the milk of our veins?
Wow. The horror genre of the 00s just put the barrel of a shogun into its mouth and pulled the trigger.
Grace looks like the most ill-conceived film of the year. Perhaps the decade. Would you say, quarter-century?
The mom character is obviously supposed to drive the film, and I'm sure the director will tease the audience with mere glimpses of the demon-baby for an hour and 20 minutes. Last 10 minutes, that's the big reveal. And I predict, the big disappointment.
What happened to classier slasher flicks like Halloween? Or bone-chilling thrillers such as Misery? If Clive Barker or Hitchcock had to watch a film like Grace today, I think they'd whimper in pain every five minutes.
C'mon Hollywood, you can do better!
