The first music video shot on iPhone 3GS

Posted Jul 2, 2009 by  David Silverberg in Technology 1 comment
You knew it was bound to happen: amateur filmmakers taking advantage of the new iPhone's videocamera. Well, the first music video has been shot and uploaded, so you can see for yourself if the iPhone 3GS videocam stacks up with pro-sumer recorders.
The video is by Showdown Productions LLC, a small production company in Dayton, Ohio. They shot the video "Play" by BSJR. The video is embedded below too.
It's a great idea to use the new iPhone for this production type. Why not? The video quality is decent, and some music vids like having a grainy and less polished look anyway. Thing is, the microphone isn't the greatest for high-quality sound, but for music videos it's fine. The images just need to sync with a pre-recorded song in most cases.
What do you think?
