Is an idiotic dad better than no dad at all?

Would you leave your children with an idiot? What if that idiot happens to your children's father? Here's the scenario. You and your husband are divorcing. You have the option of having their dad out of their lives. But by doing so, you are denying your children a father. Knowing that the man who fathered your children is nothing more than an idiot, how can you trust him with your children? Would you trust any idiot with your children? On the other hand, would you deny having your children the opportunity of growing up with a dad, in spite of the fact that their dad may be a not to be trusted moron?
