Just a quick note to everyone subscribed to this group about some cool tweaks and upgrades we've just implemented on DJ:
Auto-Saving: This was a big feature request from every citizen journalist who has ever had his/her browser crash while writing news articles. From now on you can turn on and off an "auto-save" feature while writing. It will tell you as it records changes and save your draft for you automatically every five seconds.
Blog Widget: We wanted to give more exposure to blog posts happening on DJ so we've implemented a new widget on the front page to show you all the latest blog posts so you don't miss anything. We found blogs weren't getting enough exposure and there is still lots of pretty cool content. When you post a blog now, you get front-page exposure.
Image Sorting: This improvement is small, but big. We now allow you to sort the front-page widget by Top Images (to see the highest-rated images) or Latest Images (to see recent uploads). If you click on "more" at the bottom of the image widget you are taken to a page where you see thumbnails of all images. We've decided to do this to give some great photography more exposure. Some members upload images but don't attach them to an article, so checking out the "Latest Images" page will show you thumbnails of everything that's been uploaded. Have a browse through and see what you've been missing. Click on any image thumbnail for details and to "upvote" it. The more votes an image gets the higher up it appears on the front page.
If you don't see any of these new features go to the front page of DJ and hold CTRL and press R on your keyboard until the page refreshes completely.
