There are hundreds if not thousands of nutrition sites on the Web. But sometimes you just want to see something really simple and intuitive. And visual!
That's where
Calorie Gallery comes in. Right on the front page, this beta site lets you know what 200 calories looks like, from a handful of chips to a plateful of lettuce. That's the kind of visual many people need when they think about portions and calorie restriction.
There's also a section to find out what each food item in the database contains. Pretty much what you would see on the box.
For the active person out there, a great section on burning calories lets you know how much time it would take for someone of your weight to burn 200 calories doing a variety of activities, from swimming to tennis to shopping.
It might not be the busiest site (it could use a health or food news section) but for what it does, Calorie Gallery is a winner.
