Definition of A "Mass" Murderer

Sharing lunch with a friend and colleague the other day, discussion turned to the many mass murders that seem to be occurring in an disturbing manner, and ones she had been reporting on with a vengeance here on DJ. When two are killed does that constitute a mass murderer? Discussion ensues, notes are scribbled corrections made by my friend in case someone actually dares to read my side of the conversation, thereby avoiding an embarrassing situation for my luncheon companion. Then, the confession, "I have killed." A graven face, laden with shame, shared the gory details and then, most alarmingly she told me ".. and not only once, but twice!" Shocked silence ensues, and slowly I realize that all this time, I have been sharing milkshakes and personal anecdotes with what we have just finished calling a "mass murderer"; and to be really specific a mass "mouse murderer".
