To Paste or not

Posted Mar 14, 2009 by  Leo Reyes in Internet 4 comments
I have never pasted a word, sentence, phrase or a whole paragraph from a source article but I am tempted to do so when I need to quote a whole paragraph because of amount of time that I spend typing the whole par.
Is it okey to do this?

As long as you give credit to the original publication is is okay to cut and paste a quote. As far as just data it's best to rewrite the information into your own words. Hope that helps.

That's pretty much exactly what David told me to do back some time ago.

Yes, Deb is right. Source where you got the quote, but don't paste the entire paragraph if you don't have to. Sometimes, a Digital Journalist will find a great quote or stat to include in the article. You can paste it in your post just as long as you acknowledge the source. Thanks for the question Leo!
