Brazilian football players have the reputation of being among the world’s best players. However, not all of them can make wonderful plays and dazzle spectators with their amazing skills. Sometimes a player’s control and command of the ball can be so dreadful that his performance may go to posterity as the greatest fiasco in the history of the beautiful game.
This pathetic penalty kick comes from Pilo, a midfielder of América-SP playing in Brazil’s Paulista A3 Division. Pilo was fouled inside the penalty box; the referee conceded a penalty kick which Pilo took himself. A slip during his run-up led to Pilo kicking the ball awfully, causing his attempt to go off in the most unexpected direction.
