World Baseball Classic 2013

Tomorrow, March First, the 2013 edition of the World Baseball Classic begins as Japan chases their third straight title. The tournament, which is in its third “season”, lasts until the 19th of March where a champion will be crowned.
Games that will take place on the second include Japan versus Brazil taking place at Fukuoka Dome in Japan, Australia versus Chinese Taipei at Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, and South Korea versus the Netherlands which will also be held in Taichung, Taiwan.
The first game for the United States will be March Eighth when they take on team Mexico at Chase Field. The U.S. will also play on the Ninth against Italy and the Tenth against Canada.
The Semifinals will be held on the 17th and 18th while the Finals will be on the 19th. All three games will be held at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Notable pitchers playing for Team U.S.A. include R.A. Dickey, Gio Gonzalez, and Craig Kimbrel. Hitters include Joe Mauer, Jimmy Rollins, Mark Teixeira, David Wright, and Ryan Braun. The United States team hopes to rank higher than the 2009 tournament when they finished in fourth place.
