Providing the ultimate in access control and management solutions for education, Traka can deliver cost effective proven methods of protecting assets including iPads, laptops, mobile devices and keys making day-to-day tasks easier. With software-driven automated solutions we can remove the manual administration time behind managing assets in education.
Our solutions integrate with your current access control, Cashless Catering and e-registration systems making them easy to implement and we can accommodate all sizes, budgets and requirements.
Traka’s dedicated Research & Development team work with you to provide the right solution tailored to meet your specific needs. We have developed two new access management solutions, which we will showcase at BETT.
What Traka’s Intelligent iPad Locker can do for you
This locker has 30 individual compartments each with sync and charge capability and RFID tagging. Each locker compartment can have its own docking station, which removes the need to plug the power cord into each device for charging. This locker has a dedicated site for a Mac Book that can be locked in place ready to sync devices at any time.
Another benefit the Traka Locker system has is that at no time do all iPads need to be exposed if you only need access to one or to sync the system.
There are various access control methods available with this system ie PIN, Smart Card, Prox Token or Biometrics. We can also integrate with the current third party access control methods in place at each institution.
The intelligent iPad locker has all the management features and overwhelming benefits of the Traka software, integration and networking capabilities. These include:
• Curfews – issuing warnings to IT Managers or Head Teachers when a pupil/student has not returned their iPad by the end of the day
• Auditing – full usage history for all users and iPads
• Locking down compartments for tablets that need repair
• The ease of administration – self issuing solutions negate the need for a member of staff to manually manage signing in/out devices
• Integration with third party access control, Cashless Catering and e-Registration
• Networked system – numerous iPad lockers can be located across and campus in various classrooms and departments while all being managed at one central point.
Simple iPad Locker
The second product is a 6 door locker that can house 5 iPads behinds each door. It can have sync and/or charge to each device and also has a dedicated drawer to house a Mac Book.
Each of the 6 doors can be independently opened giving authorised users access to multiple devices that they may wish to allocate to students. This is a standalone system that doesn’t require a network connection.
This product will have PIN code access only and is a more cost effective solution to the intelligent system.
The benefit of even basic PIN code access is simple. It is providing basic access control and a much more secure method of storage. The Traka solution is static and safe and can’t be tampered with.
We always work with our clients to understand their individual organisations and to develop solutions which meet their specific needs. In fact, it’s estimated that Traka systems control access to over £10 billion worth of assets worldwide, including many schools, academics and universities.
As a forward-thinking business, we’re always on step ahead when it comes to developing new and innovative access management solutions. We also have a reputation for innovation in technology design, as recognised by the fact that we won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise on three separate occasions.
