Your favourite non-fiction book?

I love diving into non-fiction to learn about in-depth topics, to get a full grasp of something that I may have only heard about briefly.

Here are my top three non-fiction books I've read recently:

The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson (beautifully written, excellent info about how plagues and disease can spread, but also says a lot about human oversight)

Bud Inc by Ian Mulgrew (chronicling Canada's cannabis industry and how much it gives to Canadian economy. Full of info not found anywhere else)

700 Sundays by Billy Crystal (yes, comedian Billy Crystal wrote a book, and this memoir of his childhood is haunting and fascinating and always tinged with a smattering of humour. Recommended if you're interested in NYC history).

What are your non-fiction picks?

I normally prefer fiction but I am reading now "Kate remembered" by biographer A. Scott Berg.

It is a fascinating look into the life of Katharine Hepburn.

Berg made her acquaintance and spent a lot of time with her for twenty years. Berg felt that as well as being a friend that she wanted him to record her thoughts and feelings for posterity.

For anyone who liked her the book is well worth reading as she was truly a very fascinating lady.

One of my favorite non-fiction books is the biography of Sarah Siddons the first notable woman actress. Very interesting to read about her portrayal of Lady McBeth.

All time favorite is The Diary Of A Young Girl: Anne Frank. Past that whatever I can learn about and enjoy!

It is a favorite of mine also Moments.
Many years ago I was able to see the exhibit of Anne Frank at the Holocaust Memorial Center. At the time the Center was in West Bloomfield Michigan. It is now in Farmington Hills MI.

It was a very moving and emotional exhibit to see. I don't know if there was a dry eye as the different ones walked through it.

I see that they now have an exhibit through June called "Children of the Holocaust” I will have to get over there and see it.
