I know over the course of the last few months, Digital Journal has been blessed with an influx of new and fresh writers. Always a joy to read new and interesting perspectives. But am I the only person who has been on a while who finds excessive commenting sans voting annoying?
When I first began writing, one of our long timers who still graces the site today (thanks momma), told me:
If you take the time to read it, vote it up.
But man, if you are gonna take the time to add your comments, and you are a registered member - click the freaking vote button! If you don't like the article, then don't read it....but please, don't comment on it, thereby weighting the comments much greater than the votes.
If its worth a say, then its worth a yay.
There are many people on here who can be considered offensive, but as a whole, we are a relatively good group and I vote on those people I may not agree with but if I read it, you bet. I'm sure on occasion there is a rhyme or reason to not vote and that is acceptable BUT as a general rule of thumb, vote it if you read it....and vote it if you comment it.
