I've never liked lotteries. Or lottery players, for that matter. I dabbed in some sports betting here in Ontario, called Pro Line, but picking random numbers and watching the TV or Net for the announcement...never found it appealing.
in fact, I find it somewhat pathetic. Yes, that's harsh, but when I hear about dedicated lotto players who spent 30 years playing the same numbers and losing every time, I am kinda saddened. I really hope people don't rely on luck in order to get what they want. Lotteries and gambling give people the false hope that life can be solved with some bonus luck. I don't buy it.
So I don't buy lottery tickets. But I won't look down on you if you do...well, if you buy every day and don't have enough money to enjoy your city's culture, well, then we'll have to talk.
Am I alone in this? Anyone not a fan of lotteries and what they do to people?
